Frequently Asked Questions

  • The type of meditation taught in this course is intended for everybody, but it will be especially helpful for people with limited time and high stress levels. If you’re looking for a comprehensive in-person meditation experience, you’ve struggled to meditate in the past because you couldn’t overcome your ‘monkey mind,’ or you’re looking for a self-sufficient meditation method that works with your busy lifestyle, this is the ideal course for you!

  • Absolutely! Ritam Meditation is a welcoming and inclusive practice that has been beneficial for many of our neurodivergent clients. Our approach is tailored to meet you where you are, embracing and nurturing your unique way of experiencing the world. Whether you seek stress reduction, improved focus, or a deeper sense of peace, Ritam Meditation is designed to support your individual needs.

  • Ritam Meditation differs from other types of meditation in a few key ways. Ritam Meditation, unlike other methods you may be familiar with, is a transcending technique, not a concentration or contemplation technique. It doesn’t require any special skills or attributes, and you won’t be asked to commit substantial amounts of time to practice it.
Additionally, it’s also intended for ‘householders’ – everyday people who have jobs, families, relationships, and other demands of modern life. Many meditation techniques that people are familiar with, such as silent retreats or hours-long meditation sessions, are intended for monks. Ritam Meditation, on the other hand, is catered specifically toward the unique demands, time restraints, and wellness needs of everyday people.

  • Absolutely! In fact, Ritam Meditation is ideal for people who have struggled with other types of meditation. This simple technique is not about emptying or controlling the mind. It’s about resting and meeting yourself where you are. Successful practice does not require any special skills, lifestyles, or mental or physical attributes.

  • Online courses and apps can be a great way to start your meditation journey, but learning in-person with a qualified teacher will always give you a deeper, richer, and more rewarding experience. Meditation is the act of getting junk out of your system. When people begin meditating, that junk may sometimes cause scary or discouraging experiences that they need help navigating. With a trained teacher, people are better equipped to overcome these situations and continue their practice. An app or online course cannot provide you with this level of instruction and attention.
Additionally, techniques and feedback provided by teachers will help you become self-sufficient rather than reliant on continued instruction, like an app might. Without actually learning how to meditate on your own, you’ll always be dependent on a person to guide you or you’ll bounce around from app to app. All of this is expensive in the long term and yields inconsistent results. Having access to a teacher who can address your question about your individual experiences will put you in the best position to begin a successful daily meditation practice.

  • Mindfulness is a natural outcome of meditation, not a practice. Being mindful simply means being present in the moment.

However, achieving and practicing mindfulness requires a lot of effort and concentration. For beginners, the level of effort required can quickly become exhausting and discouraging without proper guidance and technique.

Ritam Meditation makes it easy. This technique allows you to de-excite your mind and body and release accumulated stress. At the end of your daily meditation, you should spontaneously feel more aware and in the present moment.

  • Not at all! By the end of our four-day Beginner Course, you will have everything you need to meditate on your own and make meditation a part of your daily routine.
With that said, if you would like to continue training after the course, you certainly can! As part of your Beginner Course, you’ll receive lifetime support from me. This includes free group meditation sessions, direct access to me for any questions you may have, and unlimited course retakes. I also offer advanced courses for those looking to take their meditation practice a step further. If you are interested, please reach out.

  • No. In fact, you’re not asked to give up anything! Unlike some forms of meditation, you are not asked to change your lifestyle in order to learn Ritam Meditation. With that said, some people begin their meditation journey because they desire to stop smoking, reduce their drinking, or change other habits. Meditation can help with these goals.

  • Most people report a difference after only a few days of practice, but specific benefits vary from person to person. All Ritam Meditators tend to have certain universal experiences, such as feeling more relaxed, more energized, and experiencing greater mental clarity. These benefits increase exponentially with consistent daily practice.

  • Yes. Please bring 2-3 sweet fruits, such as apples, oranges, or pears, as well as six (6) fresh cut flowers with stems on Day 1. These are an important part of the curriculum and beginning your Ritam Meditation journey.
After Day 1, you are not required to bring anything to the remainder of the course, but please feel free to bring a pen and notebook if you like to take notes!

  • No. You don’t have to believe in anything or change your religion to practice Ritam Meditation. This is a practical technique based on natural functions of the body and mind. People of all backgrounds and religions can – and do – practice Ritam Meditation.

  • No. In fact, just the opposite! Most Ritam Meditators actually report feeling sharper, more driven, and more focused than before beginning their practice. You won’t become a spaced-out bliss bunny. You’ll become more masterful with dealing with life’s demands and get more clarity on your priorities.

  • You won’t have to share anything personal in group sessions. These courses involve discussion about the technique and the effects you’re noticing as an outcome of meditation. The group sessions allow you to hear other people’s questions, which generally stimulate great discussion and help everyone understand the practice in greater detail. However, if you prefer to learn privately, that is also an option. Please contact us for more information.
